Divock Origi has arrived in Italy to complete his free transfer to AC Milan after leaving Liverpool.

The 27-year-old spent seven years at Anfield, but was restricted to just seven league appearances last term, and he announced his intention to move on from the club last month.

With his deal at Liverpool officially ending on Thursday, Origi is closing in on moving to Serie A champions Milan.

On Monday evening, he was filmed leaving Malpensa Airport ahead of his medical at the Italian giants, which is due to take place on Tuesday morning.

Origi gave a thumbs up sign and waved to the fans outside the airport, and appeared to be in a relaxed mood.

Should he come through his medical with no issues, he is likely to be announced as a new Milan player in the coming days.

Origi struggled to establish himself as a regular in the starting XI during his time at Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp often turning to Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino ahead of him.

However, the Belgian striker did deliver some memorable moments, including scoring twice in the team’s epic comeback against Barcelona in their Champions League semi-final tie in 2019, before coming off the bench to score again in the final against Tottenham.

Origi is now set to play alongside Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Milan next season

He also chalked up an impressive record against the club’s Merseyside rivals Everton, and his final goal for the Reds came against the Toffees in April.

He is now set for a new challenge in Serie A, which will be the fourth major European league he has played in, having also represented Lille in France and Wolfsburg in Germany.

Origi will join former Premier League strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud to spearhead Milan’s attack, as Stefano Pioli’s men set their sights on retaining the Italian title next season.
