Dele Alli jets back to Everton as disastrous loan at Besiktas takes another turn

Dele Alli's nightmare spell at Turkish giants Besiktas has continued – and the Englishman has jetted home to Merseyside after his latest setback.

The midfielder has picked up an injury in Turkey, leading to him flying back to the UK. Dele has been granted permission to come back to England as he requires specialist treatment from a consultant on these shores.

Dele hasn't played for the Turkish giants since February and he had been booed off by fans in previous fixtures. The Englishman also went AWOL from Besiktas, when he was granted time off for a separate injury last month.

Dele failed to return to Turkey on time, leading Senol Gunes to fume: “Dele Alli, whom we have allowed [a break], has not come yet. It must be raining, we are trying to get news.”

However, Dele then cleared up the situation on his Instagram page: "Hey guys, just had loads of messages so wanted to clear something up. The club gave me permission to attend a doctor’s appointment today. I’m due back in training tomorrow as normal.”

Dele made the loan move to Turkey over the summer, but he has failed to make an impact at Besiktas, managing just two goals and one assist in 15 games.

Reports have suggested that Everton are exploring cutting his loan short – keeping a closer eye on Dele at Finch Farm.

However, the midfielder will not be eligible to feature for Sean Dyche's team this season, as Everton battle to avoid the drop due to not being registered in their Premier League squad.
