The odds of Declan Rice signing for Manchester City have been slashed by bookies after pictures showed the West Ham maestro with a ‘shrine’ of the northwest club in his house.
The England international was snapped playing pool with a collection of framed City shirts in the background, hanging on the wall.
As a result, the bookies have sliced their prices on the midfielder moving to the Eithad.
Having been a 6/1 shot earlier this week, Ladbrokes now make the Premier League leaders just 4/1 to purchase the 22-year-old.
However, it’s Chelsea who continue to lead the way for his signature at 11/8 – while Manchester United currently have 2/1 shots.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Man City hardly need winter reinforcements but they’re firmly in the race for Rice’s signature if the latest odds are anything to go by, and the West Ham midfielder’s recent Instagram post suggests he might just have a soft spot for the blue half of Manchester.”
Declan Rice’s next club odds:
- Chelsea – 11/8
- Man United – 2/1
- Man City – 4/1
- Liverpool – 10/1
Rice has enjoyed one of his finest seasons in the Premier League. He’s been instrumental in West Ham’s unexpected challenge for a top-four spot this season and consequently been regularly chosen as one of the best performers of this year.
The talisman has been noted for his ability to control a game and pull the strings to guide David Moyes’ side to victory.

In an interview with The Athletic, Rice spoke about his struggles in reaching the top.
He said “At West Ham, I was the last person to be offered a scholarship. I remember an under-18 match against Fulham. I was 16 and had to prove myself.
"Everyone else already had their scholarship. It was probably one of my best games. Knowing that every day I’d have to fight has made me into the person I am today.”
