Declan Rice has admitted that he was blown away by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and has learned a lot since working under the Spaniard.

The England midfielder completed a £105 million move to the Gunners this summer from West Ham as he seeks trophies at the Emirates.

Rice has already got his hands on the Community Shield as Arsenal beat Man City on penalties ahead of the Premier League season.

Speaking to TNT Sports ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest, Rice opened up on his relationship with Arteta.

‘I think in the last four weeks alone I’ve grown so much,’ he said. ‘I’ve learned so much about football that I hadn’t really seen before. I was blown away by him.

Rice says working with Arteta  is ‘another level’ as they enter their first season together

‘Of course, I’m now working with him day by day, it’s another level.

‘Seeing how he works, how his mind operates, picking up stuff.

‘Seeing how he goes into detail on the opposition and seeing how he wants to improve us as players individually collectively. It’s really impressive.’

Rice will be hoping that he can improve his game under Arteta as the pair target silverware together.

Arsenal are looking to go one further than they did last season and show that they have what it takes to win the Premier League, and finish above Manchester City and Pep Guardiola.

The Premier League will no doubt be tougher than ever, with a huge array of world class managers at the helm.

It’s clear that Rice believes Arteta is one of the very best and can take his game to new heights during their time together.
