De Gea caught on camera punching tunnel as he storms off after Man Utd defeat

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was spotted furiously punching the tunnel after losing 2-0 to rivals Manchester City.

The 30-year-old headed towards the dressing room after the full-time whistle where he was caught attempting to punch the famous red Old Trafford tunnel on camera.

De Gea, though frustrated, was comfortably the best Man United player on the pitch as he kept City at bay with several outstanding saves while his defenders were run ragged by City.

The Spaniard came to the rescue numerous times in the first-half while a goal down, most notably saving a close-range effort by Gabriel Jesus which looked certain to end up in the net.

But he eventually let the pressure get to him and conceded a poor goal on the stroke of half-time after some dreadful defending by Luke Shaw.

Shaw failed to deal with a whipped Joao Cancelo cross, allowing Bernardo Silva to get on the end of it.

De Gea appeared bamboozled by the winger’s ability to reach the seemingly over-cooked cross and simply let the ball hit him in the arm and go in.

He was clearly frustrated with both his own error and a lacklustre Man United, who could only maintain 32% of possession on the day.

The Red Devils’ defensive woes seemed to show no signs of ending as they continued their dismal run of form, with just one clean sheet in their last 13 games across all competitions.

Even more furious will be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is currently feeling the pressure after a 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool last month led to calls for his sacking.

And the Norwegian’s task will get no easier over the next month with tough fixtures against Villarreal, Chelsea and an in-form Arsenal.
