Alphonso Davies scores Canada’s first ever goal at a World Cup by heading in the fastest strike of the tournament in just the SECOND MINUTE to put them 1-0 up against Croatia

Alphonso Davies has fired Canada into the lead against Croatia with a well-placed header in just the second minute.

The wing back found himself free in the box after a counter attack, and headed past Dominik Livakovic into the Croatia goal.

It was Canada’s first ever World Cup goal, and give John Herdman’s side a chance of reaching the knockout stages.

If they can hang on for the three points, Canada will be second in Group F, with Morocco the other side in a qualifying position while Belgium and Croatia sit third and fourth.
