Brave Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was left resembling a tomato according to some fans after taking a shot fully in the face.
The Spanish stopper made the save to deny Kaoru Mitoma early on in the game against Brighton at the Amex. He required lengthy treatment before eventually being able to continue, even if he looked a tad groggy.
Fans managed to see the funny side though with one saying: “De Gea’s face looks like a tomato” Another added: “Half of De Gea’s face is bright red LOL.”

A fourth said: "Oh man… He must really want that clean sheet." One declared: "Give him the golden glove [award] already."
While some fans praised De Gea for his bravery, others went into the Roy Keane mode, declaring: "That's his job."
One unsympathetic fan said: "Groggy my a***. Footballs have never been softer. He collapsed as though he had been shot."
However, some supporters were also concerned for De Gea's health, fearing he may have been concussed by the blow.
One said: "And concussion rules ignored because de Gea decides to play on."
Another added: "Thinking more about points then players' health."
If De Gea does need to come off, United have Jack Butland on the bench, who has been warming up on the touchline.
