David Beckham’s ‘perfect tossing’ praised by Victoria despite pancake disaster

David Beckham was praised by wife Victoria for his "perfect tossing" despite suffering a disaster on Pancake Day.

The former England, Manchester United and Real Madrid star once again posted his annual attempt at flipping a pancake in celebration of Shrove Tuesday, though got this year's effort all wrong. Beckham, 47 – usually a dab hand at spinning the sweet treat – posted his latest attempt on Instagram, writing: "Told you I Still got it @victoriabeckham #Pancakeday."

Sadly for Becks, it appears his powers behind the pan are waning. Victoria could be seen watching on in the background as her husband nailed the first flip, before sending his second too high above his head, as the pancake eventually landed on his chest.

A sheepishly-amused Beckham then turned to the camera to show the end result of the greasy pancake resting on his nice zip-up jumper. Victoria's reaction said it all, as she put her hand to her mouth, struggling to contain her laughter while she walked away. Commenting on the post, she wrote: "Perfect tossing."

Beckham's sponsors, Adidas, even joined in on the fun, commenting: "Tbf [to be fair] we're with @victoriabeckham on this one."

Some of Beckham's former teammates also made remarks, with Madrid legend Roberto Carlos posting several laughing emojis and writing: "It was what I was missing. Hug friend."

Ex-AC Milan colleague Alexandre Pato wrote: "Be careful with pancakes and Victoria's faces haha," while PSG colleague Angel Di Maria simply posted a laughing emoji. Hollywood actor Rob Lowe was seemingly having worse luck, however, as he said: "Better than the rest of us!"

Beckham has been enjoying some family time of late after a recent ski trip with Victoria and the two youngest of their four children Cruz and Harper. Meanwhile, his Inter Miami team get their MLS season under way this weekend.

Miami's run into the new campaign has not been the best, losing to Montreal 2-1 before recording a 2-2 draw with Austin in recent friendlies. They kick-off the new season at home to Montreal this Sunday.
