David Beckham shows off Phil Foden haircut at Soccer Aid as Etihad crowd approve
The Etihad crowd thought Phil Foden was making his first appearance since Euro 2020 at Soccer Aid.
But they soon realised it was actually just David Beckham as the Manchester United icon showed off his new haircut.
The UNICEF ambassador was suited and booted rather than in his kit to play on his return to Manchester.
However, Golden Balls did make it onto the pitch before Soccer Aid 2021 to catch up with a few familiar faces.
Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville were all pictured with their ex-United team-mate.
And if Foden was watching on from home, he will have noticed how the England legend had copied his barnet from Euro 2020.
Many football fans spotted the trim too, as one commented on Twitter: “David Beckham copying Phil Foden’s look there. #SoccerAid #socceraid2021”.
Despite the game being at Manchester City's home, the crowd was appreciative of Beckham's new look and attendance too.
He got a massive round of applause when he came on-screen during the first half.
And during a half-time speech on all the charity work UNICEF does, fans got right behind Beckham's important message.
Meanwhile, City fans are still hoping to see Foden back soon.
Injury has delayed his start to the 2021/22 season.
