David Beckham has reacted to the people who claim Inter Miami ‘fix’ games following their recent wins.
Since Beckham’s MLS franchise side signed Lionel Messi, alongside former Barcelona team-mates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, Inter Miami have won every game, albeit two via a penalty shootout.
The Herons sit bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference but since the Barca trio have arrived, the club has been transformed after they beat SC Nashville on penalties on Sunday (August 20), to win the club’s first-ever silverware – the Leagues Cup.
Inter Miami have also set up a final against Houston Dynamo on September 27 in the U.S Open Cup after defeating Cincinnati on penalties on Thursday (August 24), giving Messi the chance to claim a second piece of silverware already in his MLS journey.

And such has been the club’s incredible turnaround under former Barca boss Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, a reporter even stated their recent games seem scripted.
Speaking before the Leagues Cup final victory, Beckham said: “Every time Leo [Messi] scores one of these goals, every time Busi [Sergio Busquets] makes one of these passes, every time Jordi [Alba] makes one of these runs, people say ‘Is it a fix?’

“It’s the biggest compliment that anyone can give these players because it is like a movie. You watch these players play and it’s emotional because everything about their play is beautiful.
“Everything about their mannerisms is beautiful and everything about them as individuals, off the pitch, is beautiful.”
Messi has proven Beckham’s cautious approach to the Argentine’s start at Inter Miami to be rubbish after Golden Balls previously warned it may take the magician time to adapt.
He said: “Leo's still going to need time no matter how good he is, no matter what his stature is, he and Sergio are going to need time to adapt no matter," said Beckham when he signed.
"They might surprise us, we might start winning every single game, but we have to be patient."
Next up for Messi and co. is a return to league action away against New York Red Bulls – where Messi is set to make his MLS debut.
