Barcelona icon Dani Alves has apparently made an extraordinary offer to rejoin the Catalonian club on a ‘low cost’ deal – despite being 38 years old. The Brazil international is currently a free agent after terminating his contract with Sao Paulo last month.
Alves originally moved to Barcelona in 2008 after six years with Sevilla, where he won the Spanish Cup.
During eight years at the Nou Camp, Alves won six La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies.
He was regarded as one of the best right-backs in the world as Barca enjoyed a spell of dominance.
After leaving the club in 2016, Alves had spells with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain before returning to his homeland two years ago.
But things turned sour in Brazil after an apparent dispute over money owed to the right-back. And he swiftly departed.

According to Diario AS, Alves is now keen to return to Barca and has been in contact with his former employers about a potential deal.
Alves would be prepared to play without asking for high wages and the Catalonians are thought to be considering the offer before making a decision.
Barcelona are in dire straights financially, with president Joan Laporta revealing over the summer that his club were in £1.15billion of debt.
They have therefore been targeting players who are out of contract, with Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia all joining the club for free this summer.

Meanwhile, the club were forced to allow legendary forward Lionel Messi to depart this summer as they weren’t able to afford his huge wages.
Alves has racked-up an incredible 119 caps for his country and sensationally returned to the international fold last month after two years in the wilderness.
He was also part of Brazil’s Olympic squad which claimed gold in Tokyo.
“Daniel Alves and Miranda were serving the Brazilian team and should have returned to start regular training for our next games,” Sao Paulo director Carlos Belmonte said after the player’s departure.
“Miranda attended and trained normally – but Daniel Alves did not attend.
“We were then informed by his representatives that Daniel Alves will not return to Sao Paulo until the settlement of the debt that Sao Paulo has with the athlete.
“A debt that Sao Paulo recognises and last week made a proposal seeking the right outcome, which was not accepted by the representatives.
“From our point of view, we have taken the decision that Daniel Alves will no longer be available to play for Sao Paulo. Sao Paulo is more important than all of us.”
