It didn’t take long for United fans to wonder whether the Spaniard was making a thinly veiled public statement about his future at the club and his feelings about losing his place.

Since losing his spot to Henderson for United’s Premier League campaign, De Gea has been used solely for the Europa League.
The Independent recently reported that while this has been a balancing act manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has maintained recently, there is still a chance Henderson could return between the sticks for the Europa League final in Gdansk against Unai Emery’s Villarreal later this month.
Furthermore, De Gea has been linked with a move to Roma in the summer, where former United manager Jose Mourinho is taking over once the present season is over.
