Wantaway Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo watched on as Christian Eriksen opened his account for the club in a pre-season friendly against Wrexham.
Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer. But he was in attendance as Erik ten Hag's side continued their preparations ahead of the new Premier League season against the Ryan Reynolds-backed Welsh outfit in a behind-closed-doors match on Wednesday.
United ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against the National League side, but it was the inclusion of Danish midfielder Eriksen – not Ronaldo's presence – that got fans talking on social media.

Making his first appearance since joining the Red Devils from Brentford earlier this month, the 30-year-old capped his debut with a first-half goal as the sides went in level at the break.
Ten Hag's outfit turned on the afterburners in the second half to run out 4-1 winners as they made it three wins out of four in pre-season. The game might not have been available to watch on TV, but that didn't stop fans championing Eriksen's performance.

"Eriksen already making an impression with a debut goal against Wrexham behind doors," wrote one. As another said: "Eriksen was announced yesterday and he score his first Manchester United goal today It’s already looking good bruv…."
A third person added: "Eriksen goal vs Wrexham give him the golden boot already." And a fourth user commented: "Eriksen just got here but has more pre-season goals than Kevin De Bruyne."
Eriksen could make his full debut for United when they host Brighton on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. It's a day he's very much looking forward to.
"[It's] the perfect place to do it, at Old Trafford. It will be fun to see the fans in stadium," he told United's website. "The atmosphere in the stadium was very nice [when I played here previously]. It was a very, very good feeling and an impressive atmosphere.
"[Matches at Old Trafford have] always been very good. There have been some very tough games in between, but always good memories. 'It's always been very special to play at Old Trafford. In general, playing against such a big club like Manchester United, there's always something with it. Like I said, it's going to be weird being on the other side."
