Cristiano Ronaldo ‘wants to LEAVE Juventus this summer’ with his attitude changing since Champions League exit as Italian media claim ‘they’ve broken up, but they are still living together’

  • The Portuguese moved to Turin in 2018 but has failed to deliver a European title
  • Ronaldo, 36, has reportedly told agent Jorge Mendes to find him a new club
  • Reports in Italy say there has been a breakdown between club and player

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave Juventus this summer after a breakdown in relationship between the Italian club and their Portuguese superstar.

The 36-year-old moved from Madrid to Turin in 2018 with the Old Lady viewing Ronaldo as the final piece of the puzzle that would see them win the Champions League.

However, Juve have not come close to winning European club football’s top prize since Ronaldo’s arrival, with Ajax, Lyon and Porto all dumping the Italians out of the competition.

Juve have endured a poor season culminating in their European exit to Porto in the Round of 16

Moreover, the Old Lady have loosened their grip on Italian football, with Inter set to end the club’s nine-year dominance of Serie A while they are also in jeopardy of missing out on Champions League football altogether next season.

And according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Football Italia, Ronaldo has asked super agent Jorge Mendes to undertake a search for a new club this summer.

On the face of it, Ronaldo’s options seem limited. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has ruled out a reunion with the club’s greatest ever player, while Manchester United have been tentatively linked with their former star.

Ronaldo’s contract expires in 2022 and would be required to take a pay cut on his staggering £26.9m-a-year wage if he is to leave Turin and would be forced to pay more taxes on his sponsorship contracts if he leaves Italy.

Reports in Italy suggest the Portuguese’s attitude has changed since their defeat by Porto

The Italian report adds that Ronaldo’s attitude has changed since Juve’s European exit to Porto, where Sergio Conceicao’s ten-man side held on for a famous victory at the Allianz Arena to boot Andrea Pirlo’s side from the competition.

The Portuguese sensation is understood to have grown distant with his team-mates, barring Carlo Pinsoglio, with La Gazzetta dello Sport reporting: ‘It’s almost like Juventus and Ronaldo have broken up but are still living together.’

Ronaldo, who currently leads Serie A’s scoring charts, has failed to find the net in his last three league appearances as pressure continues to mount on under-fire Pirlo.

Italian reports this week suggested that this weekend’s game against Udinese is must-win for the 41-year-old, with the club legend facing the sack if they secure a negative result.
