Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly intrigued by a return to Manchester United as Juventus exit rumours ramp up. The 36-year-old’s contract runs out at the end of next season but The Old Lady could cut him loose early.
At time of writing, Juventus sit fourth in Serie A on 66 points. But third and fifth-placed Napoli and AC Milan also share that total meaning Andrea Pirlo’s side could finish in a Europa League spot.
Should that happen it’s almost certain Ronaldo would seek an exit given his age and the remaining time available to him to play at the highest level.
One such destination that’s been mooted is United.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner spent six seasons at Old Trafford, scoring 118 goals in 292 appearances. The forward also helped United to a remarkable amount of silverware – winning three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups and the Champions league between 20003-09.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, United have yet to close the door to a Ronaldo reunion. Which is good news for the Juventus star as Calciomercato.it have reported that a return to his former club intrigues him.

Ronaldo would not fit into United’s preferred age bracket at the age of 36 but with 32 goals in 39 appearances this season he would be a fine coup for any top European side.
United also hold a good relationship with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes. It would seem if United were interested the process of capturing Ronaldo would be relatively simple.
The club’s desire to bring in Ronaldo, however, will likely depend on the future of Edinson Cavani. The forward has shown his qualities as a centre-forward at the club, making it clear United need an out and out striker.
But the Uruguayan has expressed a desire to return to South America and see out his playing days there. If he were to leave this summer, and targets Harry Kane and Erling Haaland prove too costly, then Ronaldo might work for both parties.
It would also buy the club another season for Mason Greenwood to develop into a centre-forward. Back to back seasons under Cavani and Ronaldo would surely do the 19-year-old no harm.
But should Solskjaer not sanction the move then Paris Saint-Germain would be the only other likely destination for the Portugal international.
PSG have taken on older strikers with a big wage bill in the past, namely in Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
