Cristiano Ronaldo was taunted by Al-Ettifaq fans as they sang Lionel Messi chants against him on Tuesday – and he couldn’t resist biting back.
Supporters chanted ‘Messi, Messi’ and eventually the Al-Nassr star’s patience snapped as he shushed the crowd.
Al-Nassr had the last laugh over Steven Gerrard’s side in the King Cup clash as they advanced to the quarter-finals with a 1-0 win thanks to a Sadio Mane goal.
Ronaldo celebrated extravagantly and cupped his ears to the away supporters after his team-mate’s stoppage-time winner.
However, the earlier chants spoke home truths to CR7 after Messi won his eighth Ballon d’Or on Monday night to move three ahead of his Portuguese rival.

The match between Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq featured lots of former Premier League stars and at times tensions boiled over in a venemous encounter.
In the first half, Talisca thought he had put Al-Nassr ahead, only for VAR to rule out his goal because Ronaldo had apparently interefered with play – and minutes later Talisca was dismissed in a reactionary lash-out.
In the second-half, Jordan Henderson was lucky to escape without a red card after shoving Otavio twice and causing a brawl.
Henderson’s team-mate, Ali Hazazi, had fouled Otavio and was shown a red card, but the former Liverpool man backed up his counterpart.
Ronaldo was given a yellow card for dissent and later gestured for the referee be substituted after Talisca’s dismissal.
And while his focus is on Saudi Arabian football, Ronaldo responded to Messi’s Ballon d’Or win by posting laughing emojis under a post that suggested the Argentine only deserves five awards.
