Cristian Stellini admits Tottenham must play more attacking football to make the top four — but he will not ditch Antonio Conte’s hated tactics.
Spurs host Bournemouth on Saturday looking to eat into the three-point gap between themselves and both Newcastle and Manchester United.
Spurs have wobbled under Stellini’s charge, drawing at Everton and riding their luck to beat Brighton. ‘We have to play attacking football,’ said Stellini. ‘We are trying to push more to create more chances.’
Conte always employed wing-backs in a 3-4-3 which did not provide enough entertainment for many fans. Stellini indicated the wing-backs were there to stay. ‘Do you remember how many goals we scored last season?,’ he said.
‘Everyone must do their best to try to win — all the other stuff is philosophy.’
