West Ham defender Craig Dawson is set to stay in London this season after a deal to bring Southampton defender Jan Bednarek to the club failed to materialise.
Dawson was keen to return to the Midlands after two seasons at the London Stadium, but is now poised to stay at the club until at least January with boss David Moyes unwilling to let him leave.
Wolves had already agreed a £5.25million deal for Dawson, but Bednarek’s decision to sign for Aston Villa has seen West Ham call off the move.

The defender was keen to move back to the Midlands after two seasons at the London Stadium
The London side saw the Southampton centre-back as the perfect replacement for 32-year-old Dawson who was eager to leave the club this summer.
West Ham are not expected to re-enter the market for more defensive reinforcements on deadline day.
Jan Bednarek’s decision to join Aston Villa means West Ham will keep Dawson for the season
Dawson hasn’t been included in any of West Ham’s five Premier League matchday squads so far this season with his last appearance coming in their 3-1 loss to Brighton in May.
