A Qatari royal with connections to Paris Saint-Germain has teased that Cristiano Ronaldo could link up with Lionel Messi at the French club as doubts surrounding the Portuguese’s Juventus future continue to grow.

Ronaldo, 36, is understood to be unsettled in Italy amid reports that the superstar is eyeing the exit door. The former Real Madrid star has a year left on his deal in Turin and has been linked with a return to Spain as well as a move to Manchester City.

The Portuguese moved to quash rumours of his unhappiness last week, however he begun last weekend’s season opener at Udinese on the bench, reportedly at the request of Ronaldo ‘because he hopes to find a solution’ to his future.

And now Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani – brother of PSG owner Tamim bin Hamad Al Than – has added fuel to the fire with a cryptic tweet on Tuesday evening.

The Qatari royal shared an image of Messi and Ronaldo in PSG kits with the caption: ‘Maybe?’

Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani had provided important updates on PSG’s chase for Messi and fans were quick to lap up the Qatari’s tweet, with the notion of Messi and Ronaldo linking up the stuff of dreams for supporters.

The French giants were quick to snap up Messi on a free transfer after the Argentine’s shock exit from Barcelona this summer and the Champions League hopefuls have gone all out this summer to finally land the European title.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have signed Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos and Georginio Wijnaldum on free transfers, while Achraf Hakimi has joined from Inter for £60million. 

However, L’Equipe reports that Ronaldo is pushing for a move to Manchester City and a deal involving Bernardo Silva or Aymeric Laporte could be wrapped up this weekend.
