Conor Gallagher’s stance on potentially returning to Chelsea from Crystal Palace in January has emerged with reports suggesting that the Blues could consider the move to cover their midfield issues. Thomas Tuchel has several midfield players absent and has been urged by some fans to recall Gallagher.
The 21-year-old has been in incredible form for the Eagles and capped a brace against Everton with a stunning 25-yard effort on Sunday.
A 3-1 victory over the Toffees was Palace’s first win in four matches.
Gallagher’s two goals lifted him onto six for the season and his three assists mean he has contributed to nearly half of the South Londoners’ 22 Premier League goals this term.
But Palace are apparently sweating on the future of their star midfielder given Chelsea’s issues in the centre of the pitch.
The England international, who made his Three Lions debut in November, would reportedly answer the call from the West Londoners to return should it arrive.

Tuchel is missing Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
According to The Athletic, Gallagher loves life at Palace. He is thriving with more freedom than he had in his previous loan at West Brom and is learning under one of the Premier League’s best-ever midfielders in Patrick Vieira.
However, the former Swansea and Charlton loanee has held a long-term goal to get into the Chelsea first team and would oblige if asked to return.
The chances of that request happening, though, are quite low.
Palace boss Vieira hailed the ‘fantastic’ Gallagher after the victory over Everton.
“We don’t think about what will happen in the future,” the Arsenal icon said.
“We have Conor for a year and we are pleased to work with him. I think he is really happy at our place, because being here has allowed him to perform at that level.
“It is a win-win. We will see what happens at the end of the season.
“What is really extraordinary [about his second goal] is we are talking about the 90th minute of the game and he had been running all around the field. To find the energy to score that goal, it takes some quality.
“He is a fantastic player to have. He gives everything to the team and he can score goals. To have a midfielder who can score 10-15 goals is important.”

Gallagher added: “Definitely the perfect way [to settle it]. I feel it was a fantastic performance from us. Conceding made it a nervy last 20 minutes.
“This game was massive for us. We have lost the last three so to get the three points was important. It feels unreal. I feel we’ve been unlucky in the last few games. We wanted to give the fans a good performance and we did.
“The last one, that feeling is incredible. I won the ball back, Christian [Benteke] was telling me to leave it but there was no chance I was leaving it.
“I love it [at Crystal Palace]. Hearing them sing my name is a great feeling for me and gives me confidence which is amazing for a player. Hopefully I can continue to impress them. I always give my all and I try to affect the game as much as I can.”
