Cody Gakpo ‘has arrived’ as Liverpool new boy finally scores first goal for club
Liverpool fans declared Cody Gakpo "has arrived" after he finally ended his goal drought in the Merseyside derby.
The Reds followed Mohamed Salah's goal just before half time by adding a second four minutes after the break. Jurgen Klopp's men broke away with another stunning counter as the ball found Trent Alexander Arnold on the edge of the box.
His low cross found Gakpo at the far post, who made no mistake as he tucked it into an empty net to give his side a two-goal cushion over Everton.

The Dutchman looked visibly relieved, having not scored in any of his first six Reds appearances since his £40million move in January.
He celebrated with a religious cross symbol before looking up at the heavens, before being congratulated by his team-mates.
And Liverpool fans couldn't hold back their joy as they took to social media, with one ecstatic Twitter user writing: "CODY GAKPO, HE HAS ARRIVED ON DERBY DAY!"

Another tweeted: "Finally. My boy is about to cook," while a third commented: "Yessss get in there, looking a lot lot sharper tonight."
And a fourth added: "Only a matter of time for Gakpo. He needed that first one. He will score more and fit in better and better."
It came after the player was mocked by rival fans prior to the game for potentially scoring zero across his first seven games – being dubbed 007 in a hilarious yet brutal reference to James Bond.
