Christian Pulisic has admitted his immediate future could lie away from Chelsea, with the winger acknowledging that ‘anything can happen’ in a new podcast interview.

Pulisic appeared on USA teammate Tim Ream’s ‘Indirect’ podcast this week and gave some insight into his club situation after helping the Stars and Stripes reach the Round of 16 in Qatar.

While the Blues will return to action on December 27 vs. Bournemouth, the January transfer window will provide Pulisic the chance to seek more playing time elsewhere as he pushes for a move away from the club.

Under managers Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, the American has started just three of Chelsea’s 14 league games this season and he refused to rule out a forthcoming move.

‘Right now, I’m absolutely back at Chelsea and focused and that’s where my mind is at,’ he said on the podcast.

‘Ready to finish the season. But you know how things work in football, things change. Anything can happen.

The winger has just one goal in all competitions thus far for Chelsea this season

‘Things change quickly, for sure. We all know it. At the moment, I’m just pushing myself in training and working at Chelsea because that’s where I am right now.’

Despite his paltry playing time at Chelsea, Pulisic is not without suitors as he’s previously been linked with Manchester United, Newcastle, AC Milan and Juventus.

Regardless of where he ends up – or if a move even materializes this winter – he used the World Cup as a reminder of his quality.

Pulisic was instrumental for the USA at the World Cup as they made it to the last 16

Pulisic ended the tournament with one goal and two assists, playing a hand in every USA goal and finding himself unlucky to strike the crossbar vs. England as well.

The USA were eventually outclassed by Holland 3-1 in the last 16 but successfully navigated a tricky group with Wales, England and Iran.

‘Coming back here with my Chelsea teammates, for example, they’re all talking about like, “You guys actually have a good team. We didn’t know. You guys looked good, you guys looked good against England, you guys have a strong team.” And I said, ‘Yeah.’

‘People don’t understand, it’s just gaining that experience and having that bit of calmness next time around. And a lot of the core guys who will probably still be there [in 2026], is the best part about it.

So I think that’s what I take away from it the most. Now that I feel like I have this experience, I feel even more comfortable out on the field. I’ve been in and played on the highest stage there is.’
