Christian Eriksen turned down Man Utd three times before joining this summer
Christian Eriksen has been playing hard to get with Manchester United for years it seems after revealing he turned the club down on several occasions before joining Erik ten Hag's revolution this summer.
The Denmark international arrived on a free transfer last month, in spite of interest from former club Tottenham, having spent the previous half-season at Brentford – who helped resurrect his career following his near-fatal cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 last summer.
United have been long term admirers of Eriksen and the 30-year-old claims he rejected advances from each of the club's three previous permanent managers; Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal.

"When I was at Spurs, I spoke to every manager who's been here at Man United to see what the situation was," Eriksen told The Times.
"So, it's been on the books. Well, not on the books, but it's been spoken about [for a while]. For me, then wasn't the time to move. I was at Spurs for a long time and I wanted to try something abroad, so I went to Inter and ended up having a lovely time
"But then obviously something happened in the summer and that changed the career path I had in mind, so I came back to England, to Brentford first of all. To be here [at United] is something I didn't think could happen a year ago. I never thought it was going to happen."

Despite the fact they landed him on a free, Eriksen is arguably United's most high-profile signing of the summer, with Ten Hag struggling to coax priority target – and former Ajax protégé – Frenkie de Jong to Old Trafford, even though they've agreed a £65million deal with Barcelona for the player.
Eriksen, a former Ajax player himself, arrived in the Premier League during Tottenham's Gareth Bale-funded summer splurge in 2013. He played a major part in the club's first title challenge in decades three years later before inspiring Mauricio Pochettino's side to the Champions League final in 2019.
He left the club six months later after failing to agree an extension on his contract and joined Inter, helping the team to its first Serie A title since 2010 in his first full season at the San Siro.
