CHRIS SUTTON: Southampton would be better off with a new manager
CHRIS SUTTON: Nathan Jones and Jesse Marsch are both under serious pressure… Southampton would be better off with a new manager – but Leeds should hold out a little longer
- There’s only so many times you can say ‘trust the process’ without the proof
- Leeds should stick with Jesse Marsch for a bit longer as he tries to get results
- Southampton would be better off with a new boss instead of Nathan Jones
There are only so many times you can say ‘trust the process’ and ‘we’re making progress’ without the proof and Jesse Marsch is running the risk of the sack.
I don’t blame the Leeds fans who are calling for their manager to go. I’m not quite there yet myself.
I’m there with Nathan Jones — his comments have been so delusional, I think Southampton would be better off without him in charge — but I’d give Marsch a smidgen more time.
That being said, this manager needs to show something pronto, otherwise his time is up. Marsch is approaching his one-year anniversary this month and yet, after losing to Nottingham Forest, he was saying: ‘We find ways to lose.’
Well, it’s your job to find ways to win. Do that, or that ever-increasing number of frustrated Leeds fans’ will get their wish.
