Chris Kamara’s health problems are so bad he can’t carry shopping anymore.
The presenter, 64, was diagnosed with Apraxia of Speech last year and was left struggling to speak. And he has now revealed the condition also affects his physical ability.
Kammy said: “The part of my brain that’s packed in affects my muscles. I’m so weak now. Coordination is not very good. Balance is not very good.

“Everybody talks about the speech side of it, but there’s also other factors to go with it. I can’t carry shopping.” Defiant Kammy has been doing weekly coordination exercises to improve.
He added: “These are a way for me to get stronger.” Wife Anne has seen Kammy struggle to cope with his health problems over the past year.

She said: “Chris used to do everything at 100 mile an hour, so he is a different person. He just has to get used to the new person that he is.” Kammy is determined not to let his diagnosis crush his spirit.
In a bid to raise awareness, the star had made doc Chris Kamara: Lost For Words, which airs tomorrow at 9.15pm on ITV1. (Subs please keep) He said: “I’m in a lot better place now than I was. I didn’t accept what was going on in my body. It’s a long process. It’s going the right way.
“I will continue now because I know while I’m out there and what I’m doing will be helping someone with a speech condition think, ‘If he can do it, I can do it’.” While he may not be on the television as much as before, the former Leeds United and Middlesbrough ace has spread significant awareness about the horrifying condition.
Kamara has appeared on many podcasts and given countless interviews, despite the fact he is suffering from the nasty condition.
