Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel plan could be stopped by Barcelona and Bayern Munich
Chelsea are believed to be targeting former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel though could reportedly face competition from Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
The Blues are hunting a new manager having shown Frank Lampard the door with Tuchel the favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel was sacked by PSG in December, just over four months after leading the Ligue 1 giants to the Champions League final.
He achieved plenty of success in the French capital and it’s believed plenty of big clubs remain interested.
French outlet Le 10 Sport claim Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on Tuchel.
Barcelona chiefs are believed to be big fans of Tuchel with Ronald Koeman under pressure at the Nou Camp.
Bayern Munich are also believed to be keen despite Hansi Flick leading the side to the top of the Bundesliga table.
They also won the Champions League last season, beating Tuchel’s PSG in the final in Lisbon.
Tuchel has also enjoyed success at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund and is expected to take over at Chelsea.
How Frank Lampard's first XI as Chelsea manager compared to the one that got him sacked
He has experience of leading a dressing room full of high-profile players after his time at PSG with the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at the club.
Following Lampard’s departure, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich said: “This was a very difficult decision for the club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him.
“He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances we believe it is best to change managers.”
