Chelsea’s interim coach is Brighton legend who followed Graham Potter to Blues

Following the brutal sacking of Graham Potter, many Chelsea fans have been left scratching their heads over who their new interim boss is for Tuesday night's game against Liverpool.

Todd Boehly took the decision to pull the trigger and end Potter's time in charge after just six months in west London on Sunday night, despite handing him a hefty five-year contract and paying a world record £21.5m compensation package to Brighton back in September.

In a statement published on the club's website on Sunday night, it was confirmed that Bruno Salter will be the one who rallies the troops for a trip up to Merseyside in the week.

But many fans were baffled by the announcement, with the Spaniard earning his coaching stripes under the watchful eye of Potter during his time at Brighton. The 42-year-old coach spent his playing days sprinting up and down the right handside as a trusty fullback, plying his trade in Spain for the likes of Espanyol, Almeria and Valencia.
