Chelsea vs Man City LIVE: Team news, line-ups and more ahead of Premier League fixture today

Chelsea welcome Manchester City in this afternoon’s Premier League match with Pep Guardiola’s side significantly weakened by a number of their team testing positive for Covid-19.

Frank Lampard is under pressure after the Blues lost to Arsenal and then dropped points at home to Aston Villa, while City eased past Newcastle before their match with Everton was called off at short notice due to the risk of coronavirus spreading throughout the City squad, with Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker initially testing positive and a number of others added to that list, though their names are yet to be divulged.

Both sides are tied on 26 points, but the Blues have played two more games. A win for the hosts will take them to 29 points and level with Spurs and Everton, while the visitors can go above their opponents today and also narrow the gap to leaders Liverpool and Manchester United to just four points. Follow all the live goal and score updates from Stamford Bridge, as well as analysis and reaction throughout. All of that will follow live updates from St James’ Park and the conclusion of Newcastle United vs Leicester City:

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (45+3’)

Leicester win another corner on the right, and Maddison’s inviting delivery is met by Fofana. The young defender can only glance his header over the bar, unable to control it because of the pace on the ball.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (45+1’)

There’ll be four added minutes as a result of the numerous stoppages. Schar is fine to continue.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (45’)

Another injury problem in a stop-start half. This time it’s Schar who needs some attention from the Newcastle physio as half-time approaches.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (44’)

Maddison curls another corner into the Newcastle box, and when it drops to the edge of the box Tielemans fires a left-footed shot over the bar.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (42’)

Almiron has taken a blow to the face, caught by Ndidi, entirely accidentally. The Paraguayan has a small cut just under his eye, so he has to leave the pitch briefly.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (39’)

Good football from Leicester. They move the ball swiftly, with Maddison finding Barnes, who in turn moves the ball onto Castagne. The left-back’s cross is in the direction of Barnes, but it strikes the winger on his back and goes behind for a goal kick.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (36’)

Tielemans swings an early ball up towards Vardy, who almost escapes the attention of Schar and Clark. He can’t quite latch onto the pass, though, and Darlow collects.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (34’)

Wilson is doing his best to occupy Leicester’s defenders, but he’s feeding off scraps at the moment. Fofana and Evans are well on top in that particular battle.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (31’)

There have been only three attempts at goal in the first half an hour or so of this game. Not a classic.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 LEICESTER (28’)

Maddison is back on his feet and looks okay to carry on, which will be a relief for Rodgers.
