Chelsea turn attention to Ings, goalkeeper hunt underway, star set for loan move
Chelsea are in the market for a forward with Thomas Tuchel still undecided on Timo Werner after a disappointing first season in England.
The 25-year-old speedster was signed for £53 million by the Blues 12 months ago but only managed six Premier League goals in his debut campaign.
With reports that Tammy Abraham is set to leave Stamford Bridge, the Chelsea hierarchy had earmarked Borussia Dortmund marksman Erling Haaland as their dream summer signing but talks look to have stalled and a deal appears unlikely.
The German side are unwilling to let their Norweigan prodigy leave Signal Iduna Park even if it means they lose out on £100 million from the sale; Haaland has a £65 million release clause that becomes active next summer.
Here's the latest from Daily Star Sport on Chelsea's transfer dealings…
Blues turn attention to Ings
Chelsea could turn their attention to Southamption striker Danny Ings if their pursuit of Erling Haaland is unsuccessful.
The Saints forward is entering the final year of his contract and might be available at a cut-price fee unless Ralph Hassenhuttel wants to risk losing him for free this time next year.
In the previous two seasons, Ings has hit double figures for a struggling Southampton side who finished 15th and 11th in the Premier League.

The report from The Athletic says that Chelsea may be tempted to submit an offer to Ings, who turns 29 this week.
The Saints stiker recently rejected a new deal at St. Mary's, wanting to test himself at a higher level.
Tuchel in the hunt for goalkeeper
The Blues are keen to acquire a third-choice goalkeeper following the departure of Willy Caballero at the end of last season.
And Marcus Bettinelli is one name under consideration by Thomas Tuchel according to new claims from The Athletic.
The 29-year-old was on loan at Middlesbrough, from parent club Fulham, last campaign keeping 13 clean sheets in the Championship for the Teessiders.
Released by the Cottagers, Bettinelli would be a free signing for Chelsea who are also keeping close tabs on Wayne Hennessey.
Star set for loan move
Chelsea look set to let one of their young stars leave on loan for a second successive season, with Conor Gallagher wanted on a year-long deal at Newcastle United.
The 21-year-old was a shining light at West Brom last campaign and caught the eye at the Hawthorns despite the Baggies eventual relegation.
With gametime unlikely at Stamford Bridge, the Blues are willing to sanction a loan move for Gallagher who made 30 appearances for the Brummie-based side last season.
The Northern Echo report that Newcastle have discussed a possible year-long deal and hope to acquire the England under-20 international after missing out on signing him last campaign.
Gallagher opted for a move to West Brom rather than Newcastle 12 months ago.
