Chelsea have agreed a £34m transfer with AS Roma to sell Tammy Abraham, report Sky Sports. The England international is yet to agree to the deal to play under Jose Mourinho but he could reignite his career in Italy.

Chelsea star Tammy Abraham could be on a path to kickstart his career after being ostracised by Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge.

He could end up following in the footsteps of Fikayo Tomori and Chris Smalling, who left the Premier League for Italy to see their form go through the roof.

It comes after a £34m bid was agreed from AS Roma for the striker’s services, who is set to be replaced by Romelu Lukaku.

Despite breaking into the first-team under Frank Lampard, Abraham has taken a backseat with Tuchel in charge.

The England international did not even make the bench for either the FA Cup final or the Champions League final last season and Chelsea have looked to sell the forward to bolster their funds.

But Abraham is a bonafide goalscorer when given the chances – his record at Bristol City, Aston Villa and even Chelsea backs it up – averaging just under a goal every two matches.

At Chelsea, they are looking for someone more clinical and Tuchel does not fancy the 23-year-old to lead the line ahead of the new season.

However, that does not mean that Abraham is a poor player and he could become a sensation in Serie A – like his English pals Tomori and Smalling.

At AC Milan, their fans have fallen in love with Tomori after an initial loan from Chelsea where he fitted in seamlessly and helped the club finish second in the league – their best finish in a decade.

While at AS Roma, Smalling was in a similar situation to Abraham after being ditched from the United starting XI by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only to become a star in the Italian capital.

The two could be about to share a dressing room soon with Jose Mourinho at the helm, who knows the forward well having been at Chelsea the season before his debut.

Abraham may feel he wants to stay in the Premier League with Arsenal looking to sign him.

But moving to Serie A could be the best case scenario for the youngster’s confidence whereas the pressure will be on at the Emirates.

Despite his lack of game-time, the Chelsea academy graduate ended the season as the club’s joint-top scorer with 12 goals.

By no means an extortionate amount of goals but enough to prove that Abraham has plenty to offer, and like his British pals, Italy could be the place for him to revive his career.
