Chelsea got their pre-season campaign off to a bright start after successfully dispatching newly-promoted Championship side Peterborough at Cobham. The Blues are said to have won 6-1 thanks to goals from Tammy Abraham, Christian Pulisic, Armando Broja and a second-half hat-trick from Hakim Ziyech.
This is Thomas Tuchel’s first full season in west London after he arrived to replace Frank Lampard back in January.
The German made history within his first few months at the helm by guiding Chelsea to their second-ever Champions League title in Porto.
Yet the hard work continues at Cobham with most of Chelsea’s international contingent still resting up on their holidays.
It gives Tuchel a chance to look at some of the fringe players in his squad and whether they are worthy of more opportunities.
JUST IN: Chelsea chiefs ‘left surprised’ by new Erling Haaland transfer development after talks
It’s understood that Tuchel lined up his players in a 3-4-2-1 formation, just as he would have last season.
The idea was to give all of the players at least 45 minutes to get some fitness under their belts and Chelsea lead 2-0 at the break thanks to strikes from Abraham and Pulisic.
Football.London report that Chelsea lined up with Jake Clarke-Salter, Trevoh Chalobah and Malang Sarr at the back.
Sarr is looking to prove his worth after being loaned straight out to Porto last season following his arrival from Nice.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel ‘doesn’t consider 12 players part of his squad’
Davide Zappacosta, Danny Drinkwater, Ross Barkley and Marcos Alonso made up the midfield.
All four are arguably playing for the future, with three of those signed by Antonio Conte.
In attack, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi provided support for Abraham.
The England duo were reportedly offered to Borussia Dortmund in part-exchange for Erling Haaland earlier this week.
The approach was rebuffed, while separately, Abraham is attracting interest from Arsenal and Tottenham.
Ziyech is believed to have come off the bench to score a second-half hat-trick.
AC Milan remain interested in signing the Moroccan and he could leave Chelsea after just one year at the club.
There were also minutes for Conor Gallagher, a target for Crystal Palace, as he looks to impress following loan spells with Charlton, Swansea and West Brom respectively as well Lewis Baker, Baba Rahman and Ian Maatsen.
Youngster Borja, who scored 10 goals on loan at Vitesse last season, was also on target as he looks to make an impression on Tuchel.
