Chelsea team news: Expected 3-4-2-1 vs Tottenham as Thomas Tuchel makes two changes
Spurs v Chelsea: PL match preview
Chelsea visit London rivals Tottenham this evening as Thomas Tuchel aims to make it three games unbeaten as the Blues’ head coach. After a draw against Wolves and a win over Burnley, Spurs will surely prove the toughest test of the German’s reign so far. Express Sport has picked the Blues XI we expect to see line up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Goalkeeper – Mendy
No surprises here as Edouard Mendy keeps his place in goal.
The Senegal international has kept two clean sheets out of two so far since Tuchel’s arrival.
Mendy will be thankful Harry Kane is not fit to play for Tottenham.
However, Son Heung-min is on fire this season and will provide a tough evening for the goalkeeper.

Defence – Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Rudiger
Tuchel is unlikely to change a backline that has not conceded a goal so far under him.
Thiago Silva at 36 may not be able to play every game, but surely will start against bitter rivals Tottenham.
Kurt Zouma is a huge doubt for the match, though it is unlikely he would have started anyway.
Cesar Azpilicueta is enjoying a new lease of life in the position he played during Chelsea’s last Premier League title-winning season.

Midfield – Hudson-Odoi, Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso
Marcos Alonso has come out from the cold and taken Ben Chilwell’s spot in the Chelsea side.
The Spaniard’s goal against Burnley means he is likely to keep his spot in the side again.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has done what has been asked of him on the other side, so should again start ahead of Reece James.
N’Golo Kante is back fit but hasn’t played for a month, so Tuchel could stick with Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic in the middle of the park.
Attack – Mount, Pulisic; Giroud
Tuchel has played with two No 10s rather than wingers in his first two matches.
Tammy Abraham lasted just 45 minutes against Burnley, so Olivier Giroud could come back into the side.
Timo Werner’s barren run in front of goal could lead to Christian Pulisic starting ahead of the German.
Mason Mount is likely to keep his place on the opposite side, though he and Pulisic can easily swap throughout the match.
Chelsea’s expected XI vs Tottenham in full: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Rudiger; Hudson-Odoi, Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso; Mount, Pulisic, Giroud.
