Chelsea star Rudiger told "good riddance" for "absolute greed" by Simon Jordan

Antonio Rudiger's contract demands have been slammed as "absolute greed" by Simon Jordan and the TalkSport pundit claimed Chelsea should say "good riddance" to their star defender.

Rudiger, 29, has long been touted with a move to Real Madrid on the expiration of his contract. Thomas Tuchel is desperate to cling onto the notorious hardman but has admitted he is powerless to prevent Rudiger from leaving when his current deal lapses at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Rudiger looks to have struck a £200k-a-week deal with the La Liga leaders – reportedly doubling his wages at Stamford Bridge. Though TalkSport pundit Jordan is far from happy with the proposed agreement.

The former Crystal Palace chairman blasted: "Have a look at some of these conditions. I mean have you seen the conditions these people want?

"200 grand a week, which by the way is outrageous amounts of money. He wants a £10 million sign on… Are you reading this? His ghastly wretched agent wants 10 million quid.

"I mean this is madness! Greed… it's absolute greed. He's going to Real Madrid because he's greedy! End of discussion. Good riddance!"

The Blues are still operating under financial restrictions after the UK government seized the assets of club owner Roman Abramovich. As a result, Chelsea are unable to sign players or extend terms with anyone already on their books.

Tuchel had already offered Rudiger a new deal – which would have been officially signed after the sanctions had been lifted – but the 29-year-old is believed to have been "insulted" by the low salary. The German now seems destined to snub any new contract offers from the club's hierarchy and leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
