Chelsea star Jorginho confronted Antonio Cassano on beach after Ballon dOr snub
Antonio Cassano has revealed he bumped into Jorginho on holiday in Formentera after insisting Italy's Euro 2020 hero should not win the Ballon d'Or.
Jorginho has enjoyed a fantastic year at both club and international level, first playing a key part in Chelsea's remarkable Champions League triumph under Thomas Tuchel.
The midfielder then followed that up by helping Italy win a major trophy for the first time in 15 years, starring in their victory at this summer's European Championship.
Some believe his impact on each success was so crucial that he deserves to pip the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to the 2021 Ballon d'Or award.
However, former Italy striker Cassano rubbished the idea of Jorginho receiving the prize – before he was accosted by the player on holiday.
The 39-year-old said on Christian Vieri's Twitch channel: "Remember when I said any journalist who voted for Jorginho as Ballon d’Or should have his licence taken away?
"Well, I was in Formentera with my family and just as I sat down, I felt a touch.

"‘Antonio, you’re great!’ the voice says.
"I turn around to ask who he was, he took off his glasses and mask, and it was Jorginho!
"I told him, Jorgi, can you believe the scandal if they should give you the Ballon d’Or and not to Messi?
"He replied that he absolutely agreed with me, Messi should always win it."
While Jorginho humbly agreed with Cassano, former Chelsea and Italy legend Gianfranco Zola believes he stakes a serious claim to winning this year's Ballon d'Or.
As per the Daily Mail, Zola recently said: "Now we are talking about a fantastic player like Messi who did extraordinary things for the first time with his national team – and this won't go unnoticed.
"Should they give it to Jorginho? It would be deserved.
