Chelsea may use a tried and tested tactic to bring Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann in on loan during this summer’s transfer window. Last season they masterminded moves for Kai Havertz and Timo Werner, by using their German centre-back Antonio Rudiger as a mediator.

To sign Greizmann, they could ask another of their defenders in Kurt Zouma to start smoothing things over for the Blues.

The young centre-back knows Greizmann from their time playing together for France’s national team and could play a big part in his transfer.

Since winning the Champions League last season Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have been heavily linked with big names.

Erling Haaland has been rumoured to be open to a move to London which would command a mammoth fee, reportedly upwards of £130million.

Chelsea – still buzzing from their European win – are looking to spend and looking to build.

They want to prove last season was not a fluke and look determined to get back atop their perch.

Greizmann, 30, has been linked with a move away from Barcelona to Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, but nothing concrete has so far materialised.

Tuchel looks to clear out several players this window, with Fikayo Tomori already leaving for AC Milan, and Victor Moses joining Spartak Moscow.

Olivier Giroud, Tammy Abraham, Michy Batshuayi, Danny Drinkwater, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Kenedy, Baba Rahman and Victor Moses are all looking set to leave the club.

Clearing the wage bill will be necessary for Tuchel if his big-name signings are to be granted.

Marina Granovskaia is a fan of collecting loanee fees, so you would expect a high number of players to leave the club on loan again this season.

Asking Zouma to persuade Greizmann is not a bad plan either, if you don’t ask you’ll never know.

By adding the likes of Greizmann and Haaland to their squad, you can expect Chelsea to become a real threat on the world stage, let alone domestically.

Those two signings could very well make them favourites for the Champions League again.

Haaland, 20, would really set the standard for Chelsea this summer if his transfer was to go ahead. Signing the likes of Greizmann would solidify that.

Granovskaia has tried her best to disrupt rival’s transfer plans this summer, so if they are to steal the Frenchman’s signature from the likes of United and Liverpool, Zouma could very well be that saving grace.
