Micah Richards has claimed Chelsea could be scary next season, should they land Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The pundit and former Manchester City defender has been left impressed by the progress the Blues have made since the appointment of Thomas Tuchel in January.
Chelsea remain on course for a top-four finish and booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals and Champions League quarter-finals in the past week.
The Blues have kept a staggering 12 clean sheets in 14 matches under the German and look ready to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
Roman Abramovich is said to be lining up a blockbuster swoop for Borussia Dortmund frontman Haaland, who is the club’s top target ahead of the summer window.
In the view of Richards, the Blues would be a force to be reckoned with if they can land the Norwegian, who is also a target for his old side City.

“I think they’ve got absolutely everything,” Richards told the BBC after the win over the Blades.
“They’ve sorted their defensive problems. The only thing to add that little bit of icing to the cake would be a striker.
“They’ve put [Timo] Werner in there, they’ve put [Kai] Havertz in there.
“It seems like they’ve not really cracked that offensive aspect of the game.

“I’m not going to speculate. If you put Haaland in this team, they’ll be scary next season.”
Chelsea spent big at the end of last season – over £220million – after marking the end of their transfer ban in style.
They brought in Hakim Ziyech, Werner, Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Edouard Mendy and Malang Sarr (loaned to Porto).
But pressure soon followed and Frank Lampard was relieved of his duties at the turn of the year, as Chelsea lost ground in the race for the top-four.
Now Champions League qualification is in sight courtesy of Tuchel’s impact and now he will be keen for his side to finish the season strongly.
The arrival of Haaland could have implications for the futures of Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham, though.
Giroud is out of contract at the end of the season while Abraham has fallen out of favour in recent weeks.
The England international is already third in the strikers pecking order and is now suffering with a recurring ankle problem.
He is also stalling on a new contract amid doubts over his game time and the capture of Haaland could see him push for an exit.
