Chelsea join Tchouameni hunt, swift transfer desired, Emerson set for loan move

Thomas Tuchel could still add to his Chelsea squad before the end of the current transfer window, having already signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for a club record fee.

The Champions League winners are the latest European giants to be linked with Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year Aurelien Tchouameni.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Juventus have all been rumoured to have an interest in the Monaco defensive midfielder.

There is also set to be a pair of loan departures from the club this week with Tiemoue Bakayoko and Emerson Palmieri in discussions to head to AC Milan and Lyon, respectively.

Tchouameni links

Reports in France are linking Chelsea with a move for Monaco's French defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

The French side value the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year at around £30million following his breakout campaign last season.

Chelsea are likely to face competition from Manchester United for the 21-year-old as the Red Devils have also been linked as they look for a new central midfielder.

Both Liverpool and Juventus have also been reported to have an interest in the player described by Cesc Fabregas as having the "potential to be the complete midfielder".

Bakayoko eyeing quick transfer

Chelsea have met with the agents of Tiemoue Bakayoko as all parties look to wrap up a quick loan transfer for the midfielder to AC Milan.

Bakayoko spent the 2018/19 season on loan at the San Siro and has also had spells on loan at Monaco and Napoli in recent seasons.

The Blues remain in talks with Milan over the terms of the loan deal that would see the Frenchman return to Italy.

Chelsea signed Bakayoko from Monaco in the summer of 2017 for £36million and despite making 43 appearances in his first year at the club, he has not played since and been loaned out three times in three seasons.

Emerson set to join Lyon

Italian full-back Emerson Palmieri is nearing a move to French side Lyon on a loan deal without an option to buy at the end of the season.

The deal is set to be completed once the Italy international has completed a medical, with terms already agreed between the clubs.

Emerson was part of the Italy squad which won the Euros this summer and had also been linked with a move to Napoli earlier in the window.

He originally joined Chelsea from Roma in January 2018 for £18million, bit made just 15 appearances for the Blues last season.
