Chelsea have taken a liking to Chilean wonderkid and reported Wolves target Dario Osorio, who has also been linked with a handful of other Premier League clubs over the last few weeks. Osorio has turned plenty of heads with his recent form in his native country for Universidad de Chile, who will seemingly face a tough battle to retain their star man when the transfer window reopens in January.
It has recently been suggested that Wolves have already agreed a deal to bring Osorio to Molineux at the turn of the year, with a potential transfer fee in the region of £5million having been mooted. However, the west Midlands outfit could still be forced to ward off competition from Chelsea, who are preparing to join the race for the 18-year-old’s services in the not-too-distant future, according to 90min.
The Blues are said to be keen on rivalling Wolves for Osorio’s signature when the bidding opens in January, with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Brighton, Brentford and Leicester also thought to be keeping tabs on the situation. Osorio is widely considered to be among the best Chilean prospects to have emerged in the country over the last few years and has already been compared to players like Angel Di Maria as a result of his quality on the ball.
Osorio has even received a glowing review from ex-Arsenal winger and Chile talisman Alexis Sanchez, who spoke highly of his recent progress when quizzed on his development over the international break.

“Dario Osorio has a lot of personality and that’s important, like Gary [Medel] or [Arturo] Vidal once had,” explained Sanchez. “You need personality to play for the national team, and he has it.”
Wolves, meanwhile, may face being dragged into another legal confrontation if Chelsea end up hijacking their proposed move for Osorio over the coming weeks and months. They initially considered taking action against Arsenal after the Gunners swooped to land Brazilian starlet Marquinhos during pre-season despite Wolves having previously agreed to sign him on a pre-contract basis.
They ultimately decided against escalating the matter but will be desperate to avoid losing out in a similar fashion with regards to Osorio, who was recently called up by Chile but did not get the chance to make his senior international debut last month. He did feature for the under-20 side against England, though, as they met in the Costa Calida Supercup tournament in Spain.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will ultimately be able to win the race for Osorio ahead of the other clubs in the queue to snap him up in January. He is said to have a number of suitors from elsewhere in Europe, including the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but all things are pointing to a Premier League move as the most likely course of action at the start of next year.
