Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is on Chelsea’s list of summer transfer targets, according to reports. The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield ahead of next season after refusing to commit to the Merseyside club on a number of recent occasions.
Salah appeared to suggest that he would be interested in a new challenge back in December, revealing in an interview with AS that he sees Real Madrid and Barcelona as ‘top clubs’ and insisting that his future is in Liverpool’s hands.
The Egypt winger, who remains under contract until 2023, reiterated his stance three months later, admitting to Marca that he will simply need to wait and see what happens with regards to next season and beyond.
In light of the speculation, Liverpool have been tipped to reshuffle their attacking options ahead of the new campaign, with the days of Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in attack looking numbered for Jurgen Klopp’s side after a dismal Premier League title defence.
The former has led the charge with 20 goals in 32 league appearances, but his influence has failed to keep Liverpool at the summit, with the Reds now facing a tough battle to secure European football for the season ahead.
It remains to be seen whether or not Salah will move on in the coming months, but it seems as though he will have no shortage of admirers.

Chelsea are said to have joined the race for his signature, according to German outlet Bild, with Thomas Tuchel keen on reinforcing his attacking options ahead of next season.
It is claimed that Salah makes up part of a three-man shortlist, which also consists of Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund.
The Liverpool talisman was, of course, a Chelsea player between 2014 and 2016 but he struggled to hold down a spot in the side and was shipped off to Roma after two years at Stamford Bridge.
Haaland is believed to be the west London club’s priority target, but an approach for Salah could be on the cards if the Dortmund man opts to stay in Germany or joins a different side this summer.
However, Klopp has repeatedly stressed that he does not expect the forward to leave Liverpool in the foreseeable future.
The German boss admitted in December that he sees no reason for Salah to pursue a move away, suggesting that he will remain an important part of the Anfield setup in the years to come.
“I don’t know, we all want it and we can look for something else if you want but the only reason to leave Liverpool right now is really the weather,” Klopp told reporters.
“What other reason could be there? This is one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“We pay good money, maybe not the most in the world, but we pay good, and we have a sensational stadium, outstanding supporters with a fanbase all over the world.
“So our colours are red, which is the nicest colour anyway, so what is the reason? But you cannot force people to stay but that is it.
“We never did by the way, it is all about timing in the right moments, stuff like this. We have made changes to bring players in and if someone wants to leave we cannot hold them back.
“I just don’t understand why someone would want to go.”
