Chelsea have been in ‘constant contact’ with Paris Saint-Germain transfer chief Luis Campos, according to reports in France. Campos joined the reigning Ligue 1 champions last summer but has supposedly been blamed for several mishaps.
Campos, who works for PSG as an advisor on a freelance basis, has overseen two underwhelming transfer windows. Reports in France also suggest he clashed with senior players such as Neymar and Marquinhos after a disappointing 3-1 defeat by Lens in January.
The Portuguese transfer guru would apparently be open to working in the Premier League. Chelsea have reportedly been laying the foundations for a positive working relationship as they seek to add experience to their hierarchy.
Chelsea have supposedly been in contact with Campos since the start of the year. The Blues could lean on the 58-year-old’s ability to spot talent and negotiate transfers ahead of another busy window.

That is according to French publication Foot Mercato, who report that Campos has ‘established relations’ with the Blues. However, that does not prevent him from continuing his work at PSG, with targets for the summer apparently already identified.
Campos’ first season in the French capital has not gone entirely to plan. There has been frustration over the club’s transfer activity, while boss Christopher Galtier was reportedly unhappy that there was failure to act on his request for the squad to be reduced.
Anger over PSG’s elimination in the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich apparently led to Campos criticising some of the players. The report adds that Campos is unsure he will be at the club next season as he is ‘bothered’ by the hierarchy.
It comes just months after reports of an argument between Campos and a few of PSG’s most senior stars. L’Equipe claimed that his criticism following a 3-1 defeat by Lens was not received well by Neymar and Marquinhos.

The duo told Campos that his observation of a lack of ‘aggressiveness’ was untrue. A heated discussion reportedly took place in Portuguese, a language that Campos and the two Brazil internationals speak.
Talks with Chelsea could lead to Campos having a say on the Blues’ summer transfers. The Boehly-Clearlake Capital consortium have backed the club with nearly £600million in signings since their takeover last May.
Chelsea are expected to spend huge funds once again in the summer. A new midfielder is believed to be a priority for Graham Potter’s side.
