Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Rennes star Eduardo Camavinga. Thomas Tuchel’s side won the Champions League last term and made the FA Cup final but, despite that, are looking to strengthen in this summer’s transfer window. So with swap deals set to become more commonplace due to the coronavirus crisis, it’s time to look at four players the Ligue 1 side could accept in exchange for the 18-year-old.
Emerson Palmieri
Chelsea haven’t seen the best of Emerson Palmieri throughout his time at Stamford Bridge.
Signed by Antonio Conte during his spell at Stamford Bridge, the left-back has made just 70 appearances for the club in the three-and-a-half years since.
However, Palmieri has flourished for Italy at Euro 2020 – putting him in the shop window.
Both Roma and Lazio have supposedly baulked at Chelsea’s demands, with the club keen to cash in.
So using him as bait to land Camavinga could be tempting, especially given the player’s desire for regular first-team football.

Michy Batshuayi
Another signing from the Conte era, it’s easy to forget Michy Batshuayi is still a Chelsea player.
He’s had some good moments for the club, famously scoring the goal that secured the Premier League title back in 2017.
But after loan spells with Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace, he currently hasn’t got a future at Stamford Bridge.
Therefore, with the striker having just a year left on his contract, offering him to Rennes would make sense.
Batshuayi would likely start most matches for the French side, something that’s needed as he enters the peak years of his career.

Tiemoue Bakayoko
Chelsea thought they were onto a winner when they signed Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco four years ago, beating Manchester United to the player’s signature.
However, the 26-year-old has spent the majority of his time with the Blues being loaned out.
Bakayoko has spent temporary spells with AC Milan, Monaco and Napoli over the past three years – blowing hot and cold with all three teams.
And a return to France, with Rennes, could be the move he needs to rejuvenate his career.
Bakayoko previously flourished in his homeland, winning Ligue 1 before leaving in 2017, and Rennes will need a replacement if they’re to let Camavinga go.
Tammy Abraham
English players have been more willing to chance their arm abroad in recent years.
Jadon Sancho went to Borussia Dortmund, Chris Smalling has been at Roma while Ashley Young spent a successful 18 months at Inter Milan.
And Tammy Abraham would be wise to follow suit, especially with West Ham lacking the funds to bring him to the London Stadium this summer.
Chelsea could offer Rennes a loan deal for the England international if they’re really determined to free up space for a new marksman, amid interest in Erling Haaland.
And while there’s no guarantee this would happen, it would be a logistical move for all parties involved.
