Chelsea have reportedly decided they’d be willing to offload Jorginho to Inter Milan as part of a player-plus-cash deal. The Italian giants are one of two Serie A clubs interested in the midfielder, who has got his Chelsea career back on track since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.

Jorginho lost his place in the side under Frank Lampard but is now stating his claim that he deserves to stay in west London.

Tuchel, who tried to sign him at Paris Saint-Germain, is a big fan of the former Napoli man and has made him the focal point of his midfield.

The 29-year-old is back on spot-kick duty and has repaid Tuchel’s faith by scoring recent winners against Tottenham and Sheffield United from 12 yards.

Chelsea are said to be keen on tying down Jorginho to a new contract but that hasn’t stopped clubs from Italy from registering an interest.

Maurizio Sarri was keen to reunite with the player for a third time at Juventus before he was dismissed last summer.

According to Calcio Mercato, former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants to bring Jorginho to the San Siro.

The report claims that Inter would be keen on a swap deal involving Christian Eriksen, who has struggled to make an impact at the club since arriving from Tottenham in January 2020.

Chelsea are allegedly interested but only if Inter are willing to include the Dane and an additional £17million fee on top.

Eriksen was offered around in the January transfer window, with Leicester and Spurs among those to hold talks with his entourage.

Ultimately, his wages proved too costly though and Conte was open to giving him a fresh start following his stunning free-kick to win the recent Milan derby in the Coppa Italia.

Evidently, Jorginho is still part of Tuchel’s plans moving forward as he looks to determine who stays at the club moving forward.

The German recently claimed he has no preference when it comes to how the Italian international takes penalties.

“I liked them both, because they were both into the net,” Tuchel said.

“I don’t judge how a player takes a penalty and I would never give him advice on how to do it. Because I played football on a lower level and I know how much pressure there is from the spot.

“I did not give him advice, Jorginho can take penalties as he feels safer and I am glad that he managed to score both of them because they were both decisive.”
