‘Send Lukaku back to Inter’: Chelsea fans joke that they don’t need new £97.5m striker after outcast Michy Batshuayi nets FIVE in 13-0 friendly thrashing of Weymouth
- Michy Batshuayi scored a stunning five goals against Weymouth in a friendly
- The Blues outcast has so far failed to impress in Premier League opportunities
- Romelu Lukaku’s signing pushes the Belgian further down the pecking order
- Batshuayi is reportedly expected in Istanbul on Monday to transfer to Besitkas
- But Chelsea fans joked the £97.5m was wasted after Batshayi’s rampage
Chelsea spent a club record £97.5m on Romelu Lukaku but Blues fans are calling for the forward to be shipped back to Italy after Michy Batshuayi’s five-goal rampage against Weymouth.
The non-league side were mown down 13-0 by a team featuring Thiago Silva, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Davide Zappacosta and Ross Barkley at the Blues’ training base in Cobham.
Batshuayi failed to impress each of the managers who granted him chances at Stamford Bridge, but maybe now is his time to shine in west London.

Romelu Lukaku has signed this summer but fans think they might not need the Belgian now
The European champions’ fans have sarcastically suggested their new signing should be sent back to Inter Milan after Batshuayi’s quintuple.
‘Send Lukaku back to Inter. Immediately,’ @_ShuBhamCFC wrote on Twitter.
‘We should sell him to (Manchester) City for £90m,’ @juniorveto1 added.
@CFC_Mary said: ‘Is it too late to return Lukaku?’
The Chelsea faithful’s dream of a 20-plus goal season from the Belgian cult hero – who scored the 2016-17 title winning goal – is fading fast with Batshuayi on his way out.
The striker is in Istanbul on Monday tying-up a move to Besiktas, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Lukaku is aiming to fire Chelsea to the Premier League title after completing his £97.5m move
The Belgian’s best season for the Blues was his 2016-17 debut under Antonio Conte, bagging five goals and lifting the title. He only made one start that season, and always seemed to struggle with the pace of the English top-flight.
He joined the Blues for £35m but had loan spells at Borussuia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace, twice.
Lukaku’s transfer was completed last week and the Belgian means business on his big-money comeback to the Premier League.
He wants to end the No 9 curse at Stamford Bridge, saying: ‘I just want to try to help the team win and be available for the manager as well as for my team-mates. I want to make sure that they feel comfortable and they can lean on me in whatever situation we’re in.
‘I’m a leader but I’m also more of a gel person, making sure that everybody feels comfortable and confident.
‘That’s the way I lead. When I was at Inter and when I’ve been captain of the national team, I make sure that everybody is confident and knows what they have to do.’
