Chelsea fans claim Lukaku "bullied" Liverpool’s Joel Matip to create attack
Since returning to the Premier League earlier this month, it’s safe to say Romelu Lukaku has hit the ground running with new club Chelsea.
The Belgian superstar returned to Chelsea on August 12 for a whopping £97.5m and made his second debut for the club just 10 days later.
It was the perfect comeback for Lukaku, who scored just 15 minutes into the Blues’ match against Arsenal after tapping home a cross from Reece James.
Lukaku was outstanding for the rest of the game, picking up a Man of the Match award for his exploits, and described his own performance as “dominant” in his interview with Sky Sports after the match.
In the second game since his return to the Premier League, Lukaku faced a far tougher task as Chelsea faced Liverpool at Anfield.
The Belgian again led the line for Chelsea but was up against Liverpool’s outstanding center-back partnership, Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip.
Despite the challenge in front of him, Lukaku was again excellent and produced one particular highlight that sent Chelsea fans wild.

Midway through the first half, Lukaku received the ball from Marcos Alonso on the turn with Matip behind him.
The Belgian simply shrugged off 6’5’’ centre back and sent him stumbling away, before turning and rushing into the Liverpool half.
While the attack did not lead to a goal, Chelsea fans were dazzled with the way Lukaku dealt with the Cameroon international.
One fan said, “That Lukaku turn sent Matip to the cleaners!”
Another claimed, “Lukaku is unbelievable. Bullying Matip for gun. Guy is on a different planet to when he was at United.”

However, Liverpool fans were far less convinced by Lukaku’s performance, with many claiming the Belgian international spent most of the game in Matip’s pocket.
One stated, “All that Lukaku hype? Easy work for both Virg and Matip, handled him with ease.”
Another said, “Someone tell me. Is Lukaku in VVD’s pocket or Matip’s? Has he come out?”
