Chelsea dressing room fear Thomas Tuchel will go amid transfer ban setback

Chelsea players are reportedly fearful Thomas Tuchel will leave the club due to the impact of sanctions imposed on Roman Abramovich.

The Blues have already suffered from not being able to hand out new contracts with Tuchel admitting their "hands were tied" when it came to Antonio Rudiger, who is now leaving at the end of his contract. And with the transfer window around the corner, more concern is creeping in.

According to The Times, the Stamford Bridge dressing room feel the sanctions from by the UK Government will continue to harm them with not only players leaving, but also their transfer targets slipping from their grasp.

That will make Tuchel's job very hard, which leads some squad members to believe he will head for the exit door in that scenario. The sale of the club has rumbled on for several weeks now, but a decision on which party has been successful is expected soon.

Three bidders remain in the battle which was set to conclude last week before an extension was granted. The remaining interested parties are in the process of making their final pitch.

Who could replace Tuchel, if anyone? Let us know in the comments section.

Should the sale be completed before the end of the season, the fear of Tuchel leaving will be eased. But as it stands they are set to lose Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta for nothing along with Rudiger.

Defensive signings to replace that trio wouldn't be able to be made, which would leave Tuchel with a defensive crisis. On that front, The Telegraph reports Villarreal and Spain centre-back Pau Torres are on their radar.

He could fall by the wayside, as too could midfield targets Declan Rice and Aurelien Tchouameni with both being lined up by rivals.
