He was also linked with a Championship move to Middlesbrough, though official talks with Chelsea never began.
Rahman signed for Chelsea in 2015, on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee, reported to be an initial £14 million, rising to a potential fee of almost £22m.
The Blues had high hopes for the star, who was initially set to be fast-tracked into the senior ranks.

Rahman made his debut on September 16 2015 in a Champions League group tie, playing the full 90 minutes in a 4–0 win at home to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
He then went on to make his Premier League debut shortly after, during a 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge in October.
