Chelsea have made signing Erling Haaland a top priority going into the transfer window. However, they will have their work cut out for them with most clubs in Europe also after the Borussia Dortmund striker.
Chelsea have plans to sign Haaland from Dortmund in the summer transfer window and could sell ELEVEN players to make it happen.
It comes as talk heats up over a move away from the Bundesliga with most of Europe desperate to land the 20-year-old goal machine.
The Norway international has 33 goals in 34 appearances, including 10 in seven Champions League matches.
Dortmund do not want to sell but may find they have no choice as they battle for a spot in the top four.
Chelsea are one of the frontrunners for his signature, in a transfer tug of war with Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
And Roman Abramovich could be happy to authenticate the sale of 11 players to bring in the funds necessary – with fees being quoted from £127m upwards.
Several include those out on loan, including forgotten men Davide Zappacosta, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater, Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi, report Football London.
AC Milan look set to fork out the £28m buyout clause in Fikayo Tomori’s loan deal while several fringe players could be offloaded.
The first is Kepa Arrizabalaga, whose fall from grace has continued with Thomas Tuchel in charge with Edouard Mendy still firmly No. 1.
Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri could also be allowed to leave, the former garnering more of a fee after being given a new lease on life by Tuchel.
However, Ben Chilwell has stepped up his form and adjusted to the German’s plans – providing more of an attacking threat and defensive prowess than either rival.
If Chelsea want to sign Haaland, it would make no sense to keep Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham – considering neither have featured much under Tuchel anyway.
Offloading both could profit the Blues enough to prise the Norwegian away from the Bundesliga ahead of their competitors.
