Chelsea could raise £200m funds for summer transfers with mass clearout
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is expected to make a number of changes to his squad when the transfer window reopens this summer.
The German, who replaced Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge in January, will undoubtedly have his eye on a number of potential recruits ahead of his first window as Blues head coach.
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is reportedly the club’s first-choice target, while Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is also believed to be on their radar.
AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has also been linked with a move to west London this summer.
But how will they be able to afford a summer spending spree? We’ve taken a look at some current players Chelsea could offload to raise transfer funds at the end of the season.
Christian Pulisic
Pulisic has been given the cold shoulder by Tuchel since he arrived in January, failing to start a Premier League match under his former boss at Borussia Dortmund and being left out of his squad on two occasions.
The American winger may push for a move away in the summer if he is continually snubbed, and Chelsea would hope to raise around £70million for his services following an impressive debut season under Lampard and with three years left on his contract.
Emerson Palmieri
Tuchel’s preference to play with wing-backs has pushed the Italy defender further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, with Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso now ahead of him on the left-hand side.
If, like Pulisic, he decides to move on in search of more game time this summer, a fee of £20million is probably the best Blues chiefs can hope to receive given he only has a year remaining on his contract.

Kepa Arrizabalaga
Chelsea’s joint-record signing has fallen completely out of favour this season and now finds himself playing second fiddle to Edouard Mendy in between the sticks.
Given he is no longer their No.1 goalkeeper, club officials will likely want to get the Spaniard’s £150,000-a-week wages off their books, but it is difficult to see any potential suitor paying any more than £40million for him this summer.
Fikayo Tomori
The 23-year-old centre-back has got off to a flyer on loan at AC Milan, who reportedly have an option-to-buy him outright for £25million at the end of the season.
Should Tomori choose to remain in Italy beyond the end of his loan deal, and Milan opt to activate that clause, Chelsea will have some extra cash in the bank for their spending spree.

Tammy Abraham
Abraham burst onto the scene at Stamford Bridge in impressive fashion last season, scoring 15 goals in 34 Premier League matches under Lampard.
Tuchel doesn’t appear to be a huge fan of the 23-year-old striker, nevertheless, hauling him off at half-time on two occasions and seemingly preferring Timo Werner to be leading his line.

And with reports suggesting West Ham, Aston Villa and Southampton are circling, Chelsea could spark a bidding war starting at around £40million for their academy graduate at the end of the season.
