Chelsea’s need for a new centre-forward is well documented after a season of struggles in front of goal. Jorginho’s penalty against Leicester City in midweek was his 7th goal of the Premier League season, which remarkably made him the Blues’ top scorer in the league.

This is despite Roman Abramovich shelling out almost £50million on Timo Werner and around £72m on his compatriot on Kai Havertz.

But both have failed to hit the ground running, forcing Tuchel to also use Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud as the No.9 at Stamford Bridge.

It means that a new arrival seems likely, but one player which won’t be signing for the Blues is Sergio Aguero, with the Man City striker closing in on his move to Barcelona.

The Argentinian had been linked with a move to west London, as he ends his legendary career with City this weekend. However, reports claim he has signed a two-year deal at the Camp Nou, which is set to be confirmed imminently.

With Aguero out of the picture here are four other strikers that Tuchel could look to recruit before the start of next season.

Harry Kane

The Tottenham striker shook the entire transfer market up when it was claimed he could leave Tottenham at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old is desperate to win trophies, with his preference being to remain in the Premier League.

Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Kane’s representatives and Tuchel himself admitted there isn’t a coach in the world who wouldn’t want to sign him.

“If you find any coach around the world who would not like to have Harry Kane in his team, call me again,” he said. “I would like to speak with the guy and hear about his ideas of scoring and attacking.”

Erling Haaland

There isn’t too much that needs to be said about the Borussia Dortmund forward. Haaland is arguably the world’s most in-demand player and Chelsea – along with every other big club will scramble for his signature.

The obvious stumbling block is the huge transfer fee it will take to sign the Norwegian, but if a deal could be agreed, it could be a fortune transforming one.

Romelu Lukaku

Since switching the Premier League for Serie A in 2019, the Belgian has been in prolific form.

The former Chelsea striker has been linked with a potential return, particularly in the midst of Inter Milan’s financial woes.

However, the Italians have now agreed a deeal with US based financial company Oaktree Capital, with the hope of offsetting some of the losses suffered as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Robert Lewandowski

He may be 32, but Lewandowski is showing no signs of slowing down, scoring his 40th Bundesliga goal of the season last weekend.

And Sky Sports Germany claim the Polish international is high on Tuchel’s radar and the club have made contact with Bayern Munich over a potential summer transfer bid.

Should Chelsea sign the Baayern legend it would put paid to their goalscoring woes, but reports claim a move to the Premier League isn’t at top of his wishlist as things stand.
