Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has his sights set on a reunion with Presnel Kimpembe in the transfer window. It comes amid tensions the Frenchman has at Paris Saint-Germain under Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea are keeping tabs on PSG star Kimpembe as they look to sign defensive reinforcements to their squad.

The Blues are facing an exodus at the back where four defenders will be out of contract at the end of the season.

They include Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen and confidence is sapping that all four will remain.

Real Madrid are interested in Rudiger while Barcelona are ready to make moves for Azpilicueta and Christensen when January begins.

It could leave Chelsea in a torrid situation with only Trevoh Chalobah left – who had not started a match for the Blues prior to this season.

As a result, the Stamford Bridge outfit are on the lookout for defenders – and Tuchel already has one in mind.

According to L’Equipe, via Foot Mercato, Kimpembe is willing to leave PSG in search of a new challenge.

Despite being with the Parisians since he was 10, he has his mind set on a move to the Premier League.

The France international believes it is the right career choice now and that internal tensions at the Parc des Princes has made his mind up for him.

At 26, Kimpembe does not want to spend his peak years in Ligue 1 and wants to test himself at the highest level.

In Tuchel’s system, the centre-back could be an ideal replacement for Rudiger – who operates on the left-hand side of a back-three.

The Germany international is probably the biggest potential departure from west London after becoming an integral part to Chelsea’s side since the switch to a back three.

As a left-footed defender, Kimpembe could fit in where Rudiger plays in defence.

The PSG star is not the only player that has been linked with a move to Chelsea, with Matthijs De Ligt also on their shortlist, as well as Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
